Oil analysis is back. No gas in the oil, so i guess that throws that idea out. The Si may be from the King bearings and from sealant.

Perfect circle makes bearings with an OD groove so you can rotate the bearing to position the oil hole better. It has been suggested that I try that. However, I don't think it will solve the problem as I know that just standard bearings are used in 99% of the stokers, some with much higher spring pressures. And 99% don't have this type of bearing failure.

Is there anything else that can bind in the valve train that I am missing? I checked the springs, retainers to seals, rock arm pivot, rocker arm tip to valve stem, pushrods to head, and valves to pistons. I checked both numerically and using solid lifters. Plenty of room on everything.

What about springs? The seat load is ~100# and the open ~230#. Not just numbers derived through math, but the springs were tested. Is there any way the springs could be doing something weird while in motion?

The spring pressure is Ok and should not be a problem.

I question the report about high silicon in the report.

Might the oil galleries have dirt or some contaminate in when assembled? It does seem strange that only one of the bearings failed this time. Or have you looked at the other bearings yet.

If possible I would like one of the failed bearings and let my engineers look.

The #3 bearing was pushed out and had the most damage, the #2 had a little bit pushed out. #1 and #4 didn't have any material pushed out, but was still showing premature wear. Overall all the bearings were not as bad as previous times.

As for the silicone, it could have came from the sealant. Also, I went with king main and rod bearings this time around which have alecular silicone. Don't know exactly what that is, but could contribute to the high SI reading.

I'm certain that there was no dirt in the oil passages. No machine work was done this time around and it was washer 3 times and brushed thoroughly through all the passages then rinsed.

I have bearings I can send. The ones from this round are still in the box, but I have ones from the previous round ready to go. Let me know which set you want.

Just something I can discuss with my engineers.

I'm dropping those bearing ins the mail tomorrow.

How often do you have an engine that needs any work done to the cam tunnel? I.e. hone or bore of the tunnel. Especially the 00+ engines.

After looking at the bearings it looked as if some not all oil feed holes were not aligned. I don't believe that they spun in block, I am going by the wear point on the bearing and clocking them on a block.

I have not had a problem with any of the late blocks.
